- Hotels and B&Bs. Traditional seafront guesthouses along North Parade and South Parade. Good for couples and short one-night stopovers; less flexibility for families.
- Self-catering apartments and holiday homes. A kitchen and shared living space can suit families and groups who want to eat and relax together. Sea Breeze has four bedrooms, sleeps eight, or ten using two z-beds, and is three minutes’ walk from the beach.
- Campsites and touring parks. A handful within a 10-minute drive, mainly in Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards. Great in July and August, quiet the rest of the year.
Where to stay: the neighbourhoods
Near the beach and town: Sea Breeze is on Roseberry Avenue, three minutes’ walk from the beach and five minutes from the town centre. There is no private parking, with plenty of on-road parking nearby. Check local signs when choosing a space.
Town centre and seafront: Closest to the pier, Fantasy Island coaches, arcades and Grand Parade. Fun, busy, occasionally loud. Best for weekenders who want everything on the doorstep.
Winthorpe and Ingoldmells: Two miles north. Big caravan parks, Butlin's, and Fantasy Island. Great for families using the parks; you'll drive or bus into Skegness proper.
Chapel St Leonards: A quieter village six miles up the coast. Better for wildlife, walking and Anderby Creek; not the choice if you want the traditional Skegness resort feel.
